Whether any duty or import VAT can be recovered depends on your circumstances, the evidence available and HMRC accepting the claim. We cannot guarantee any particular outcome.

Independence from HMRC

Harbour & Tariff is an independent business. We are not part of, or endorsed by, HM Revenue & Customs. You can make claims to HMRC yourself without using our services.

Free review and engaging us

Our first review is free and you are under no obligation to use our services afterwards. If you decide to engage us, our work will be governed by a separate written engagement letter, which sets out the scope of the work, our responsibilities and yours, and our fees.

For recovery work we charge on a no win, no fee basis: our fee is [FEE BASIS, e.g. 25% of the amount HMRC repays, plus VAT]. If nothing is repaid, you pay nothing for that work. Other work, such as reducing future duty or ongoing support, is quoted separately. If anything in these terms conflicts with your engagement letter, the engagement letter applies.

Using this website

• You must not misuse the site, for example by trying to gain unauthorised access, introducing malicious code or disrupting its operation.
• Information you send us through the site must be accurate, and you must be authorised to share it.
• We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site without notice.

Intellectual property

The content, design, logo and branding on this website belong to us or our licensors. You may view and print pages for your own business use, but you may not copy or reuse them for any other purpose without our permission.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website. Our liability for services we provide is set out in your engagement letter. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
